Hello all,

   first of all I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and read what I have to say. This is my first blogging experience, so I hope you will bear with me as I learn and improve. I also want to take this opportunity to state what my intentions are by putting up this blog.

   It's probably safe to assume that if you have ended up here you are a person concerned with the direction of our country and with politics & governance in general. This blog is not intended for everybody, but everybody is welcome to visit and comment. Those I hope to reach via my blog are people who are concerned with our country's condition and want to remain informed, but may not perhaps have as much time (or will) as they would like to follow the overwhelming amount of information that comes our way each and everyday. We all have jobs, families and other interests so keeping up with the latest story out of Washington or each state capital may not top our priorities list. That,however, does not mean that we are not affected by those developments. The purpose of this blog is to accomplish two things: 1)to bridge the gap between our desire to stay informed and understand current events and not having unlimited time to do this and 2)to show the link between what may seem like otherwise irrelevant events and our daily lives and long term goals.

   Finally, I want to make a note regarding the name of this blog and my current of thought. The name of the blog is meant to be a challenge to visitors. I get the impression that many people seem to pick a political party or candidate and stick with them as if they were sticking up for their favorite sports team. The challenge is to ask readers to be objective observers who have more of an interest to learn the truth than to defend a party or politician. As I post articles and opinion to my blog you may get the impression that I am more sympathetic to one party then to the other or tend to fall to one side of an issue. That is because I am. What I can promise is that I will always voice my honest and informed opinion based on verifiable information and sensible train of thought. The name also relates to a news media which is biased, dishonest and undermines the intellect of the average American.
